Effective Trees watercolour
A pathway in a picture makes for a good composition, as you can see, looking at the woodland painting on this page, the path leads your eye into the scene.
In this tree scene a variety of tones have been rendered using one colour only. This is known as monochrome painting. In this instance, the artist has used a lovely shade of brown known as ‘sepia’.
Painting trees is not the simplest of tasks. As a subject, trees are fascinating and offer almost endless challenges. To not overcomplicate matters, sometimes using one colour only seems to make sense.
